|where I've been

After several weeks living with pretty intense abdominal pain, I got to a doctor. As you may know, I usually limit doctor's visits to just special occasions; birthdays, Easter, amputations.... But this time, I figured I'd make an exception. |
After an Upper GI and SBFT, I was diagnosed with Crohn's Ileitis. Not a huge surprise. My brother has had the same for 10 years (albeit much worse), and I went in to the gastroenterologist with this in mind.
I put myself on the SCD diet, which is worse than just keeping Kosher. No sugar. No bread. No potatoes. No starch or complex sugars of any kind. It seems to be working, but I am expecting a 'We Miss You' card from Hostess any day now.
I am now on Endocort and Pentasa every day - 7 pills, which is small for this condition. I am hopeful that these will put me into remission quickly, and I can celebrate with a nice piece of Rye toast, covered in a pile of french fries, topped with a PopTart.
